I also feel for the people who are losing their jobs over these greedy bankers. Good to hear you're OK- keep your chins up and always look at the positives of a situation.

Be well!

being a strong introvert myself, I would probably not attend the party, unless I know a lot of people I know well (and find interesting) will be there

I find "surface" socialising with many strangers quite draining - too much indifferent chit chat about sports, the weather, others' family members and happenings of which one couldnt care less..

Being a strong INTJ myself (or INTp, if you go for the Socionics typology) I tend to simply ignore and quickly leave a conversation unless I find it interesting.
A more "socially conscious" or simply extrovert person, would probably choose to maintain those conversations, not because they are interesting in themselves, but maybe because they are the best means of "breaking the ice" in their attempt to expand their social circle. And extroverts will tend to go after much wider social circles than introverts

Personality profiling is fascinating and goes deeper than what may be initially apparent

I am an introvert myself, INTJ acc. to MBTI (or INTp when it comes to socionics).

Hey GB,

I guess you're probably right but you see we never get the chance to even go there. You can literally see and feel the difference when the moment I mentioned that I am seeing someone. I did of course try to continue the conversation but it was difficult. Anyway, it would have sounded strange if I had said something to reassure them that there is no barrier to our "friendship", especially since I do not know if my assumptions about these people are correct. And even if I was correct, it would be misleading for me to say anything more than the norm as I certainly don't want to go in that direction.

Well DL, perhaps you should develop your conversational techniques so that when you're talking to these guys, they get the impression that your existing relationships won't be any barrier to developing "friendships" with them?

Very true Sir Wobin. But some people have a knack of being contented and happy. Unfortunately, that doesn't come easily to me!
